Learn to design flyers or digital handouts in Adobe Photoshop. Step-by-step video included.
Hello friends at Marieú Technology Corporation, how to design a flyer in Adobe Photoshop? Indeed, in this step-by-step guide, you will learn how to get the flyer template, import it into Adobe Photoshop, identify layers, edit text, import images, insert links, and export the project.✨🎨
Adobe Photoshop is an image editing program, developed by the company Adobe Systems. Among some benefits, it has compatibility with all Adobe Systems applications, image retouching, color modification, adding filters, effects, among others. The Adobe company offers different plans, focused on businesses, personal, or academic use.
We are going to design flyers inside Adobe Photoshop. We will open the template we downloaded from Envato Elements, edit some text and images, and insert some links. Finally, we will export the presentation. For our third application, Creative Cloud Desktop, we will install the fonts, and we need to update the Adobe Photoshop application.

Here we have the template for the flyer or the marketing handout. It is compatible with the Adobe Photoshop application, the file type is .PSD, it works with layers, the color space is a CMYK model, and some A4 dimensions. We are going to download it, we are going to unzip it, and internally we have both sides.
In addition, it comes with a .TXT help file, where we will find the links to the fonts. We open the first one, and an alert will appear regarding an embedded profile difference. We don’t want to eliminate it, nor do we want to convert it; we want to show it just as the project was saved, so we click “OK”. Here we have the main side, and on the other side, we have the back side.
The first thing we are going to do is identify some layers. If we go to the layers panel, we will be able to notice that we have the “bleed”. What is that bleed within the presentation? That red frame we have, here it is. If we hide the view, we see that it disappears. Texture, we notice how it fades. We have the text layer, there it is, each of the elements that this presentation contains. And, finally, the background. It is similar to the second presentation, with similar layers.
We are going to start with text editing. We select “Join Online” and, in case it does not detect any source font from the template, an alert will appear, an orange alert. In this case, we already have the font; it is not necessary to install it. We are going to put “Community manager” or social media administrator. In case an alert appears in white, if you have the font installed, it is only because there are some updates regarding the font. Simply select and start editing.
We put 2025, in bold, regarding the date, we are going to put 24/7. Something similar, from “regular” we put “black”. We select the text and press “Control + T” to move it, just like 247, and there it is! We are offering the Community Manager Service. Where it says “we are social media marketing agency”, we are going to change it. We select “We are” and put “somos” (we are), change the character, “bold”.
In the case of “media”, an alert appears that the font is missing. Which font would that be? “Adelia”. Remember, we go to the folder we downloaded from Envato Elements, and inside the help file, we have all the fonts. We copy the link. On the datefont.com page, we would have the “Adelia” font. We download it, open the folder, and internally we already have the .OTF and .TTF files; both are font files.
Inside Create Cloud Desktop, we are going to load the fonts. “Uploaded fonts”, “add more”, either of the two fonts is valid. We are going to integrate the .OTF file, activate the checklist of rights and licenses of the font, and click “Add”. Once it is installed, we are going to verify within Photoshop, and we would already have the fonts installed.
An alert appears for a font update. We select it, put “agency”, select “media” and we are going to put “de” (of), “marketing”. Finally, we change “agency” to “digital”, select “digital”. “Somos agencia de marketing digital” (We are a digital marketing agency).
Here, we are also going to change the text “muévete como quieras” (move however you want), we select the text. Perhaps the client may request a carousel, perhaps a puzzle, a flyer, a short, among others. For that, we are going to put all the details of our services in the text below, eliminating the Lorem Ipsum.
Also, we are going to put some contacts. For that, we are going to skip a line and paste the contacts, select, and we are going to change it to medium. And the letter is a little darker, so that the client can clearly distinguish the contacts. For the “Call is now”, we are going to replace it. We select the text and put “llámanos ahora” (call us now). We also change the number, select it, and there we have the number.
For the “your Website” part, we are going to put our website, there it is! And here we are going to put “regístrate ahora” (register now), we select the layer and put “register…”. We are going to change the size, we put 10.5 and we are going to move it, “Control + T” and move it to the center.
So, we would already have our first side. We are going to go with the second side, to focus only on the texts. We put “somos” (we are), we are going to change it from “Light” to “Bold”, we put “agency”, in “media” we put “de” (of), “marketing”. Finally, we change “agency” to “digital”, select “digital”. Our services or “Our services”, we are going to change it to “Our plans”. Remember that for our social media service, we have two plans. Out of the three services, we are going to eliminate one, to keep only two.
We have already placed 16 publications. We want to display the bullet points. For that, we are going to lower the layer of the orange rectangle. We have the rectangle layer and we lower it. And we will notice that we will already see the bullet points. For example, there we already have the first bullet point and we notice the other bullet points. We are going to put a little more in the characteristics of the plans, we put “interacción con el cliente” (customer interaction), we underline the text and we are going to change it to “regular”.
We are going to go with the second plan “build your plan”. Something similar to the previous one, we underline it and we are going to put it in “regular”. For our social media services, for now we only have two plans. So, we are going to eliminate the third plan.
Now we are going to change the name of the plans. We select the Lorem Ipsum, put “Plan Junior”, “Plan Trainer”. We select and we are going to put it in “medium italic”. The footer part of the presentation is already in the first presentation; we are simply going to copy it and paste it.
Now, we are going to move on to the images. For the first side, we are going to include our logo in the upper right. We are going to eliminate the text and insert the logo above. We select it, drag and drop it, press “Control + T”. Remember that we have a color variation, since it is in CMYK format, not RGB format. We select the image, press “Control + T” and reduce the size.
Remember that the aspect ratio must also be activated, that is, here, why? So that the image is not distorted. “More or less there” and we are going to lift the layer, we move it up a little, and done. This is how we finish to design flyers.
That’s it for the first side; we don’t have any more images to add. Let’s go to the second side. Here we are going to add a logo image, a generic social media image, and two images of the plans. We start with the logo, we paste the same logo we have on the first side, press “Control + T” and we can move it. We eliminate the “logo here” text and move up the logo layer. And there we have our logo for the second side.
We are going to go with the main image, which represents the Social Media Service. We select it. It shows us the layer that contains that area, which is an embedded smart object, we select it and click “OK”. This is where we are going to place the image.
You can get these images from FreePik. This is the first image we are going to use, this is the second, and this is the third image. We select the image, drag and drop it, press “Control + T”, enlarge it a little more to avoid those white horizontal lines, try to center it, and press ENTER, press “Control + S”, so that it saves, and we would already have the image inserted.
Now let’s go with the images in Plan Junior and Plan Trainer. We select the embedded image and insert the images we downloaded from FreePik. We increase the size a little more, press ENTER and press “Control + S” to save it. Finally, with the second plan, we increase the size a little, center it, press ENTER, “Control + S”, and we would already have the images inserted.
Now we are going to insert links. We have it here, in the lower left, which, automatically, by including the “www” dot the domain, in this case, marieu.com, detects it as an external link. With this, the user will be able to move to a website. Similarly, for the case of an email, marieu@marieu.com, when the user passes their pointer over that text, they will be able to send an email. This is the key to design flyers effectively.

ANow we are going to go with the export. We click File, Automate, we click “PDF Presentation”. We select “Add Open Files”. By default, it loads in numerical order. We want the presentation in orange color to be first, so we are going to move it up. Now we are simply going to click “Save”, leave the configuration by default, and click “Save”.
We put a name “Flyer Marieú” and click Save. We select, in this case, modified high-quality printing and the other settings by default. We click Save PDF and, finally, there it is! If we want to click on a link, we select the website and it directs us to the Marieú Corp website. Done, thanks friends at Marieú Technology Corporation!
